Fayetteville is a city in Fayette County located 22 miles south of downtown Atlanta.

There are a lot of activities held in the city every year. On Sept. 16, the 2017 Fayette Idol will be held from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Southern Ground Amphitheater.

At least four categories are included in the singing contest — for ages 7 to 11, 12 to 15 years old, 16 to 21 years old, and 21 years old and above.

The overall winner of the contest will perform at Main Street’s Tree Lighting as well as participate in the parade as one of the Grand Marshall’s in December. On Sept. 23, Fayette MarketPlace will be held at the Courthouse Lawn in downtown, which is a series of events from June until September.  

A variety of vendors showcasing their homemade and homegrown products will join the event, which opens at 10:00am and will close at 2:00pm.

Enjoy the jack-o-lanterns around the Fayetteville square and the Fayette Family Market Day around the gazebo during the Fayette Market Day and Trick or Treat on Main Street on Saturday, October 28, from 10:00am until 5:00pm.

On Nov. 11, the first Veterans Day Celebration – Boots, Blues & BBQ will be held at the Courthouse Square.

Giving joy to the holiday season in Fayetteville is the annual Gaddy Family Christmas Light Extravaganza, which opens at Thanksgiving night and will run until January 1, 2018 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Every year, the Gaddy family sets up the light extravaganza for the public to appreciate and feel the true spirit of Christmas.

At the Veterans Center, Vets Christmas Celebration 2017 will be held on Dec. 23 until Dec. 31 starting at 10:00am.
