Griffin is a city in Spalding County that is part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, named for landowner Col. Lewis Lawrence Griffin.
There are a lot of activities that await every visitor in Griffin.
This year, Griffin will host the Chamber of Commerce Gala and the Atlanta Motor Speedway NASCAR in September, the Kiwanis of Griffin Fair, the Downtown Trick or Treating and the Doctober Day Downtown Griffin in October.
In December, the Welcome Center will hold its open house and lighting of Christmas displays while the Griffin Ballet will present The Nutcracker.

The Kiwanis Spalding County Fair is held every October which attracts both young and old who enjoy midway rides and games.

The Griffin Area Concert Association is once again presenting a series of shows, foremost of which is the comeback performance of internationally acclaimed and award winning guitarist Pavlo on October 10.
