The City of Newnan holds a lot of activities every year that both locals and tourists enjoy.

Historic downtown’s largest event is the Taste of Newnan which is held bi-annually in Spring and Fall.

The Taste of Newnan is both a family friendly event and a marketing opportunity for local Newnan-Coweta restaurants to showcase their most popular dishes and the community’s dining portfolio to over 7,000 visitors.

The Fall event will be held on October 5 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm and features two stages of family-friendly entertainment, a “kids’ zone” along West Washington Street that offers rides, games, face painting and other activities, and cuisine from over 35 local restaurants.

The bi-annual Fall Art Walk will once again be held on Sept 8 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm in downtown Newnan.

The Art Walk is a celebration of local art where businesses extend their hours to host store-front exhibits and demonstrations curated by a variety of Newnan’s finest artists who use different art styles and mediums such as oil on canvas, engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry-making, fiber arts, performing arts and acrylics.

Beer enthusiasts will surely troop to downtown to enjoy a night of tasting craft brews during the Oktoberfest slated on Oct. 13 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

During the event, more than 30 downtown businesses will serve as tasting locations for the different varieties of craft beer, which is available to guests for sampling. Click here for details

Every year on the morning of Halloween (Oct. 31), the city holds the Munchkin Masquerade from 10:00am until 12:00 noon, which is considered as a daytime trick-or-treating event for young children.

During the event, preschool children will gather in downtown Newnan around the courthouse square to collect treats from businesses. Check this site for more details

On Nov 9 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, downtown Newnan will welcome the holiday season with its annual Holiday Sip-and-See where retail establishments extend their normal business hours to introduce holiday gift items and offer special promotions or discounts to locals and guests. Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, Santa on the Square is held with Santa visiting downtown Newnan to greet children.

This year, the event is slated on Nov 24 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Santa will welcome the children as they sit on his lap and read to him their Christmas list.

Santa will arrive at downtown in a fire truck and will immediately light the Christmas Tree before he meets with the children. Click this site for more details
