Peachtree City is the largest city in Fayette County located in South Metro Atlanta named the “8th Best Small Town to Live” by Money magazine in 2009. It is a golf cart city with a 90-mile network of golf-cart paths that wind through greenbelts and around lakes.

Every September, Peachtree hosts the annual Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival at the McIntosh Trail Complex.

On Sept. 23 from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Rotary Club of Peachtree City will hold the Dragon Boat Races and International Festival at Lake McIntosh.

The festival combines international culture, food and dance with exciting, adrenaline-filled dragon boat races. It includes the traditional Kids Korner and a wide variety of entertainment and food bazaar.

The annual Atlanta Warbird Weekend (AWW) will once again be held on Oct. 7 to 8 at the Dekalb Peachtree Airport.

Now on its 4th year, the AWW will celebrate the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen as it offers the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Red Tail traveling exhibit showcasing the history and legacy of the Airmen, the first cadet graduates to earn their wings 75 years ago at Tuskegee who became the first black U. S. Army Air Corps pilots.

On Nov. 4, the CAF DIxie Wing Keep ’em Flying Run will be held in 10k, 5k and 1 mile walk categories.

Proceeds from the race, which will start at 8:00am, will help fund educational outreach programs at the CAF Dixie Wing and the construction of a new children’s playground at the Atlanta Regional Airport. Check here for more details

On Dec. 2 at 5:00pm, Hometown Holiday is slated to be held at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater along 201 McIntosh Trail where guests can enjoy performances by local talents.

Coinciding with the event is the lighting of the Christmas Tree starting off with the Trail of Lights to be led by Santa that goes toward City Hall.
